Prof. Professor Xu Xin will discuss how both the Chinese and the Jews were victims of mass murder during World War II: the Chinese in the Nanjing Massacre, committed by Japanese forces, the Jews during the Holocaust at the hands of the Nazis and their accomplices. For the Chinese commemoration of Nanjing Massacre presented a challenge. Jews' commemoration of the Holocaust provided the Chinese with some useful lessons.
